NEW TAX COLLECTORS
Congratulations on the opening of your business in Bentonville!
The City of Bentonville imposes an Advertising & Promotion Tax—commonly known as the HMR Tax—on the following:
- Hotels, motels, and condominium rentals
- Meeting and event spaces
- Businesses that sell prepared foods and non-alcoholic beverages, including:
- Restaurants, cafes, cafeterias, and delis
- Drive-ins and carry-out restaurants
- Concession stands, food trucks, and caterers
- Convenience stores and grocery store delis
This tax applies to all prepared food and non-alcoholic beverages sold for on- or off-premises consumption.
Visit Bentonville, governed by the Bentonville Advertising & Promotion Commission, is responsible for collecting this tax. The funds are used to promote tourism and economic development in the City of Bentonville.
As a business operating in Bentonville, you are required by Arkansas State Statutes and City of Bentonville Ordinances to collect and remit this tax to Visit Bentonville.

Once the completed business information form is returned, you will be assigned an account number and given access to our CRM extranet, where you can maintain your contact information, account listings, and amenities.
