You’ve put in the miles. Now, welcome to Bentonville.
As college runners gather for the 2026 National Junior College Athletic Association Region 2 cross country competition on October 31, we’re excited to welcome the women’s and men’s teams, coaches, support staff, families, and fans joining NorthWest Arkansas Community College for race weekend.
We know your schedule is full. Between your race preparations and time at the course, exploring may happen in small windows. Here are a few ways to make those windows count, with running essentials, lunch ideas, and easy stops for your whole crew.
Get ready at Rush Running
Forgot an extra pair of socks? Looking for running shoes or another layer? Rush Running Company’s Bentonville shop, at 1600 SE J Street, Suite 2, is a useful stop for runners and the people supporting them. Explore Rush Running and its gear selection.
Stock up for the weekend
A grocery stop can help keep a busy team weekend running smoothly. Pick up familiar snacks, fruit, drinks, and anything missing from your travel bag at Walmart Neighborhood Market. The location at 1703 E Central Avenue offers groceries and online pickup. Find store details.
Make lunch an easy decision
Lunch is a chance to find something everyone will enjoy. Keep these options handy:
-
Beet Thyme, formerly SnackLab: Find customizable bowls, smoothies, and açaí bowls at 102 SE 28th Street, Suite 2. It’s an option for teammates or family members looking for a meal and a smoothie in one stop. Explore Beet Thyme.
-
8th Street Market: Head to 801 SE 8th Street for several food choices in one destination. Look for wood-fired sandwiches at Songbirds or Mexican food at Yeyo’s. Explore the market.
-
A grab-and-go grocery lunch: If the schedule leaves little room for a restaurant visit, pick up lunch supplies during your grocery run and keep the afternoon flexible.
For a full team, contact your chosen restaurant ahead of time about order size, pickup timing, and dietary needs. Explore our dietary restrictions blog.
Stop for a smoothie
Looking for something between activities? Rush Bowls at 3511 SE J Street, Suite 5, serves fruit bowls and smoothies, with online ordering available. Browse Rush Bowls. If you’re spending time downtown, stop by Sunny’s on Second at 110 NW 2nd Street, Suite 106, for a smoothie—or make it lunch with a sandwich or salad. Explore Sunny’s.
