Scope the full route below, then read on for what to eat, see and do at each stop.
Stop 1: Visit Bentonville Visitors Center
124 SW 2nd Street (between Ladyslipper and Barley & Vine)
Start your ride here. The friendly staff will load you up with free maps, trail tips and insider recommendations you won't find anywhere else. Open seven days a week, this is your home base before you roll out.
Local Tip: Ask the staff about current trail conditions and any new businesses that have opened along the route.

205 S. Main Street
Pick up your bike rental here and get fitted before you head out. Phat Tire is one of several bike rental options in Bentonville — find the full list at visitbentonville.com/bike/resources.
Once you're rolling, you'll cut through downtown to the Razorback Greenway, Northwest Arkansas’ signature multi-use 40-mile trail. Along the way, you'll pass through a few neighborhoods and continue onto the Walmart Campus — a publicly accessible destination in its own right.
Don't miss: Public art on buildings and parking garages throughout the campus, plus shops and restaurants open to all visitors, including Wright's BBQ, Anthropologie and Clementine's Ice Cream.
Stop 3: Onyx at the Preserve
1101 Excellence Drive, Walmart Campus
Fuel up at this newly opened breakfast and lunch spot on Bud's Preserve, the Walmart Campus's scenic green corridor. Open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Dinner hours are coming soon.
Local Tip: Arrive early! This spot fills up fast.
From here, you’ll backtrack up the greenway to the 8th Street Protected bike lane and start heading west. Along the way, you'll pass through the Market District, ride alongside 8th Street Market and the Momentary.
Stop 4: 8th Street Gateway Park
SW I & SW 8th Street
This one's going to change everything. The new 8th Street Gateway Park is a 100-acre greenspace opening Fall 2026 right in the heart of Bentonville, and it's already generating serious buzz.
Here's what's coming:
- 6 miles of beginner mountain bike trails
- 5.75 miles of paved greenways
- A signature 2/3-mile paved loop called the Cycle Ring
- Skate park, pump track and balance bike course
- Great Lawn, food truck plaza, picnic areas and playground
- Quarter-mile running track
- More than 1,000 new trees alongside restored creek corridors
- Best Friends Pet Resource Center and Third Space Coffee at the park's heart
From 8th Street Gateway Park, you'll continue north on the Applegate Trail, passing the Bentonville Bike Fest grounds before entering one of the most beloved natural areas in Northwest Arkansas.
Pro tip: If the weather has been rainy around the time of your ride, be sure to check the Bentonville Trail Status page. Applegate Trail runs alongside a lovely creek, which occasionally floods the two tunnels along the trail.
Stop 5: Airship at Coler
1300 Applegate Trail
Coler Mountain Bike Preserve feels like a remote forest — because it basically is one. This 300-acre park maintained by the Peel Compton Foundation features over 17 miles of mountain bike trails, Coler Creek, picnic areas and even an accredited firefly habitat. The Airship is the perfect spot to rest, refuel and take in the trees.
Local Tip: Coler is just two miles from the Bentonville square. The wilderness-to-downtown contrast is part of what makes this city so special.
From Coler, you'll use the 3rd Street protected bike lane and a dedicated neighborhood bike route to cruise back toward the center of town
Stop 6: Lawrence Plaza
214 NE A Street
One of Bentonville's most popular gathering spots year-round, Lawrence Plaza transforms with the seasons. In summer, the interactive splash pad is a free, fun cool-down stop for kids and adults. In winter, it becomes a community ice skating rink.
This park was partly funded by Visit Bentonville through A&P tax dollars — just one example of how tourism investment creates amenities that residents enjoy every day.
From Lawrence Plaza, you'll get back on the Razorback Greenway heading north, passing through Compton Gardens & Arboretum and down the Crystal Bridges art trail to the museum's south entrance. Keep your eyes open along the way: you'll pass the James Turrell Skyspace, a stunning permanent artwork open daily from dawn to dusk — and completely free to visit.
Stop 7: Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art
600 Museum Way (South Entrance)
You've earned it. Park your bike and step inside one of the most celebrated art museums in the country. Crystal Bridges recently completed a major expansion — every gallery has been reinstalled with new works and new perspectives, making this a must-visit even if you've been before.
Grab lunch at Eleven, a coffee at Quartz & Honey, or simply wander the stunning architecture and the miles of sculpture-lined trails that surround the building.
Want to keep riding? From Crystal Bridges, paved trails extend through the museum grounds and connect to the Heartland Whole Health Institute, the Alice Walton School of Medicine and the north forest art trail, which links back to the Razorback Greenway via the Enfield Trail.
Stop 8: Return Downtown
