Experience the artistic atmosphere that breathes life into the streets with every step you take.

A relaxed walking path through Bentonville's public art installations now serves as my preferred method to discover the city's outdoor art. —author John Fernandez

The path begins at the Walmart Home Office on 8th & J Street, winds along 8th Street through downtown, and makes its way to The Momentary. Ending beneath the changing colors of Buckyball. Major landmarks include Parking Deck F, with its detailed butterfly mural by artist Mantra, and the colorful murals at 8th Street Market, culminating at The Momentary's outdoor installations.

Start: Walmart Home Office (8th & J Street)

Passing by Parking Deck F, the tower transforms into a butterfly explosion through the artwork of French artist Mantra (Youri Cansell). The wall displays a diverse collection of butterflies from Africa, Asia, and the Americas, and their species, including Monarchs and Giant Blue Swallowtails, and Paris Peacocks, in detailed, colorful arrangements. The butterflies in the mural symbolize Walmart's operational areas worldwide, which creates a connection between the artwork and its global reach. The artwork creates a sense of amazement while warning viewers about the endangered status of these species.

Next Stop: 8th Street Market

The 8th Street Market becomes accessible through a 10-minute, relaxed walk from your current location. The atmosphere transitions from corporate to creative when you approach the area.

The market area features murals and local artwork, which provide visitors with artistic experiences each time they visit. Octavio Logo created Agave in the Ozarks (2020), which stands out as a prominent work of art at the market. The artwork unites agave plant geometry with the natural textures of the Ozark region through its colorful design. The artwork unites Mexican cultural elements with Arkansas natural elements to create a perfect match for Yeyo's El Alma de Mexico's culinary offerings. You can take photos at this location while enjoying Yeyo's El Alma de Mexico tacos and Markham & Fitz chocolate treats.

Walk On: The Momentary

The contemporary art space The Momentary operates from a converted factory building at 8th Street in Bentonville. The outdoor installations and sculptures at this location create an energetic atmosphere that brings the entire area to life.

The east wall of the building displays Tavares Strachan's massive neon installation, which features the message "You Belong Here." The massive artwork extends across the building to deliver a radiant greeting to all visitors who walk by, welcoming every person who visits, whether they live in the area or are visiting the city.

Stop by Onyx Coffee Lab at The Momentary to get a drink and take a brief break while visiting space. The artistic atmosphere and architectural design, combined with relaxed energy at this location, create a central creative hub for Bentonville.

Final Stop: “Buckyball” by Leo Villareal

The Momentary's outdoor area becomes visible when the sun sets to display Buckyball, which Leo Villareal designed as a large geometric structure. The lights of Buckyball create a peaceful yet dynamic display that transforms the lawn into a colorful space. The artwork presents a different appearance with each viewing, which makes it an ideal conclusion for your walk.
