Historic first-time honor signals Bentonville’s rising national tourism profile

Visit Bentonville has been named the Tourism Organization of the Year at the 2026 Henry Awards, presented by Arkansas Tourism, marking the first time in the organization's history it has received the honor. The announcement was made during the Henry Awards ceremony, held in conjunction with the 52nd Annual Arkansas Governor's Conference on Tourism and Outdoor Recreation in Little Rock.

The Tourism Organization of the Year Award recognizes a Convention & Visitors Bureau, Advertising & Promotion Commission, Chamber of Commerce, or similar organization whose work has made a meaningful impact on tourism in Arkansas over the past year. Visit Bentonville was recognized for its commitment to delivering "Unreasonable Hospitality" through visitor services, meetings, and destination-management efforts, contributing to the city's growing national profile as a world-class destination for the arts, culinary experiences, and outdoor recreation.

"This is a testament to the hard work of our entire team and the incredible support we receive from our community partners and stakeholders," said Kalene Griffith, president and CEO of Visit Bentonville. "Bentonville's success as a destination is never the result of one organization working alone. It's a reflection of what's possible when an entire community shows up together."

Bentonville's recognition extended beyond the organization itself. Marshall Stettler of 21c Museum Hotel was also honored at this year's ceremony, underscoring the depth of hospitality leadership across the community.

"I am so proud of what this team has built and the way they show up for this community every single day," said Chris Sooter, Chairman of the Visit Bentonville A&P Commission. "To be recognized as Tourism Organization of the Year for the first time in our history is a milestone that reflects years of dedication and hard work — and it's a strong signal that Bentonville's best days as a destination are still ahead."

The Henry Awards are presented annually by Arkansas Tourism to recognize outstanding contributions to the state's tourism industry.
