Visit Bentonville has released a restaurant study, taking a look at Bentonville’s food scene business in 2023. The study was conducted through the destination analytics software Zartico, with aims to understand visitor trends and their impact on the community.
Zartico defines a visitor as someone who has traveled at least 50 miles from where they live and/or work, who stayed more than two hours and visited at least one attraction.
Key Insights:
- For every four people eating at Bentonville restaurants, about one is a visitor. Visitors also spend about half of all the money spent at restaurants.
- Top visitor markets include Little Rock; other cities in northwest Arkansas; Springfield, Mo.; Dallas, Tulsa, Okla.; Kansas City, Mo., Oklahoma City, Okla.; Joplin, Mo.; Houston; and St. Louis. Little Rock contributes to the largest visitor market and the most in visitor spend concerning food. Dallas represents the highest average visitor spend at restaurants.
- The percentage of visitor spend on food is higher than all other categories, with groceries and restaurant spending tied.
“The results from this study highlight the contribution of tourism to our local food economy,” said Kalene Griffith, president and CEO of Visit Bentonville. “Bentonville’s food scene is a draw year-round. We are thrilled to continue our efforts to showcase our wonderful offerings to visitors near and far.”
