Drawing on family photographs and papers, this presentation will chart the stages of the artist’s life and career from a personal perspective, paying special attention to the works of art by Sargent in our permanent collection. Ormond is the former director of the National Maritime Museum at Greenwich, the chairman of the Watts Gallery at Compton, curator of the 2015 exhibition of Sargent: Friends and Artists, and co-author of a nine-volume Sargent catalog.
