Native Visions Now: Contemporary Works of Indigenous Artists of Oklahoma is presented by the Museum of Native American History, Downtown Bentonville Inc, and House of Songs. This show runs through October 25th at DBI located on the square at 102 E Central Avenue in Bentonville, Arkansas. Artists include the show's curator Johnnie Diacon (Mvskoke) along with artists April Holder (Sac and Fox), BJ Stepp (Cheyenne/Cherokee), Breana Hill (Mvskoke/Ihanktonwan Dakota), Brittany Hill (Mvskoke/Ihanktonwan Dakota), Ed Hoosier (Comanche), J NiCole Hatfield (Comanche/Kiowa), John Timothy II (Mvskoke), MaryBeth Timothy (Cherokee), Roy Boney, Jr (Cherokee), Travis Mammedaty (Kiowa), Kai Onsae (Hopi), and Matthew Anderson (Cherokee). The show opened October the 5th and runs through October 25th. Also in Bentonville is the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art exhibit, Art for a New Understanding: Native Voices, 1950s to Now. It runs from October the 6th through January the 7th. Roy, Matthew, and Johnnie were part of the focus group for their show and it looks to be a good one as well so be sure to check them both out.
