Join us for the third installment in this quarterly dinner series exploring the fine arts through the lens of the culinary arts. Chef Rafael Rios and the LatinX Theatre Project will use their respective artistic mediums to together contemplate the concept of HOME. Home is a theme running throughout Chef Rios’s life—about 10 years ago when his family decided to make a small farm in Little Flock, Arkansas their new home, they hardly knew what the future would hold. While remaining true to their roots, the family made a new home and a prosperous new beginning while showing Northwest Arkansas that farm-to-table cuisine can represent the dishes and traditions of other cultures. As Chef Rios shares stories of his homes-both old and new-through carefully crafted dishes, LatinX Theatre Project will explore and enhance the meal through their iconic mix of theatre, spoken word, comedy and song. In the modern era, where for many the safety and security of feeling at home is now considered a privilege not a right, what new meanings does the word take on? Does home mean our physical location? The food we eat? The company we share it with? Or something else entirely? Join us to meditate on home through Latin American cuisine prepared, served and accompanied with thought and passion.
